Project "Peach" started
I've been hired for project "Peach" by the Blender Foundation, so I'm going to spend six months (from October to the end of March) in Amsterdam, working as lead artist in the new Blender Institute!
We have already had one first week of workshop in August, where we had the occasion to meet and know each other.
It has been a great week: all the team members are very nice guys and Amsterdam is always a wonderful place to stay. The team is composed by people from all around the world (actually: Ton Roosendaal and Sacha Goedegebure from Netherlands, Brecht van Lommel from Belgium, Nathan Vegdahl from USA, Andy Goralczyk from Germany, Campbell Barton from Australia, me from Italy and Lyubomir Kovachev from Bulgary). We couldn't meet Campbell yet, 'cause Australia is a bit too distant for a one week workshop, we'll see him in October.
EDIT: as we went home after the workshop we discovered that Lyubomir quitted from the team for personal reasons. A bad new indeed.
Btw, William Reynish from Denmark joined the team as animator, the director role has been took over by Sacha.

Alfred J. Kwak and "Opzij" song
Ok, since the moment I saw this on Harald Siepermann blog, I loved it!
I had never heard of Alfred J. Kwak character before, but the animation and the music in this montage definitely entrapped me: gotta get more!

Started!!
So, in the end, I decided to have my blog.
My name is Enrico Valenza (aka EnV) and I'm an italian freelance illustrator, using both traditional and cg media. If you want to have a look at my gallery you can go to my online portfolio.
Last years I almost definitely switched to cg, basicly 'cause I love to do animations (and what's better than a computer and a 3d package to reach this goal?).
For my 3d works I use the opensource Blender 3d suite, a great program with great features. If you want to have a look at it, click on the name or go to the right where you can find the link at the Blender's official home.
See ya in the next post.
